How lightfast will a print be?
We use pigment based Ultra Chrome archival inks to produce our artwork. Epson states that these inks will produce a print that is lightfast for upwards of 75years (please note this applies to prints that are not placed in direct sunlight). The coating we apply also has anti UV qualities adding to the life of the image.
What kind of printing process is used to generate the artwork?
Our artwork is produced using an Epson wide format inkjet printers. This machine can generate images with a maximum resolution of 2880dpi x 1440dpi (giclee quality). It can also print artwork up to 44 inches wide by 12 yards.
Does it matter who owns the copyright for an image?
You must own the copyright (or have written permission from the owner of the copyright allowing reproduction) before we can print your image (this is an important condition of our standard terms). If the image is a photograph or artwork that you have taken/produced yourself then you own the copyright. If, however, you have commissioned the work (e.g. you have asked a professional photographer or an artist to produce a wedding photograph or a painting) then it is highly likely that you will not own the copyright. But don’t worry; if this is the case we are happy to assist you in trying to obtain written permission.
Q. What type of canvas do you use?
Genuine cotton cloth fine art textile 350gsm combined with a special ink jet carrier layer which makes sure that structure of the material is retained even after printing, i.e. no sagging.
Q. What kind of stretcher bars do you use?
A. We use three thickneses of lipped stretcher bars and they are all supplied with a hanging bracket. Our ¾” deep bars are made from kiln-dried Pine and they are “artist quality”; our 1” deep bars are made from laminated Pine which improves the strength of each bar and our 1¼” deep stretcher bars are made from high quality Tulip wood. Tulip wood comes from the largest hardwood tree in the United States and the bars it produces are remarkably tough, strong and straight. Our Tulip wood bars are regarded as being one of the finest stretcher bars available in the UK.
How will my order be packaged for delivery?
Prints are bubble wrapped then corner protectors are fitted. Following this, a tough cardboard sheet is cut to size and fixed to the front of the print. Finally, a layer of protective corrugated cardboard is added to the packaging before our courier delivers it your designated address.
